At Oakhill, we provide safe, confidential counselling services by professionals who have at minimum a master's degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or related discipline and several years of experience working with people just like you.
At Oakhill, we put families first. Our mediators are trained professionals with several years of experience helping people resolve conflict. We work hard to make sure everyone feels safe, and understood, so we can enable you and the other party (or parties) to find solutions that work for everyone.
Depending on the issues you're dealing with, a registered psychologist may be the best option. Our psychologists are registered with the BC College of Psychologists and their services are accepted by third party insurance for reimbursement.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) or Employee and Family Assistance Programs (EFAP) offer solution focused, brief counselling services that provide free counselling paid for by your employer. The goal is to help you understand the issues at hand, and develop goals solutions to address your concerns.
We know that relationships can be hard at times. Communication issues, conflict resolution, infidelity, and other concerns arise from time to time in every relationship. We are here to help you navigate those issues with your partner and move toward developing a healthy and happy relationship.
Often times, schools and other government services require a psychological assessment and/or diagnosis before resources can be allocated. Our psychologists provide a range of assessments from basic cognitive and personality assessments to more complicated ADHD and autism assessments.
Our vision is to see individuals and families improve relationships, make healthy choices, discover resilience and improve well being.
Our mission is to provide the most competent, responsive, flexible and diverse services needed to address the client’s concerns.
At Oakhill, we don’t sell counselling services. We are objective companions that come alongside you on your journey of discovery, self acceptance and personal growth in a way that fosters emotional stability, resilience, well being, prosperity and joy.
We are diverse. Our personnel are made up of both male and female therapists who utilize a broad range of therapeutic modalities. We have representation from five racial backgrounds (East Indian, European, two Middle Eastern countries and South African) and speak eight different languages; Hindi, Punjabi, Spanish, Afrikaan, Arabic, English, Urdu and Farsi. We range in age from 30 to 65 years, have a diverse background of professional experiences and represent several religious philosophies. We also have representation from the LGBTQ2S community.
We are flexible. We are the largest, if not one of the largest, mental health agencies in BC. We strive to provide services in a timely fashion and because of our large network of professionals, can accommodate any schedule.
We are competent. We are made up of professionals with significant professional experience and hold at least a Masters degree in counselling, psychology or social work and who are registered with a professional organization such as the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, BC College of Social Workers or the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. We also have psychologists who hold a doctorate degree in psychology and who are registered with the BC Psychological Association.
We are responsive. We have several offices in the Fraser Valley and the capability to provide online and phone services if needed. So, we can meet you when, where and how you want to receive services.
Person centered – we believe everything starts and ends with you. Our focus is to help you achieve what you want to achieve and to use whatever tools are at our disposal to help you get there.
Ethical Integrity – we operate at the highest of ethical practice and are transparent in that endeavour. We believe in “saying what we do and doing what we say.”
Compassion – as a wise person once said “no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” The process of helping starts and ends with the foundation of compassion that develops a safe, trusting relationship from which to explore and discovery solutions neither of us could discover alone.
Authentic – as wounded healers, we have struggled on our own and bring everything we are to the helping relationship. None of us are “perfect” or ‘have all the answers.” Instead, we leverage our own humanness to your advantage to develop strategies that are uniquely your own.
Lifelong Learning – as helpers, we understand that personal and professional development is a process, not a destination. As professionals, we are committed to lifelong learning that informs our ability to help. We are also tenacious about our personal development. Healing wounds, evolving and transforming ourselves and our relationships that reflect our integrity and commitment to the helping process.

That depends as well. All extended health benefits will generally cover psychological services from a registered psychologist. Some benefit packages cover registered social workers and some will cover registered clinical counsellors. Its best to check with your extended health benefit provider to make sure before booking appointments.
For the most part no. Clients are required to pay up front and submit their receipts for reimbursement.
Not a problem. We understand that not all counsellors are a good fit for all clients. Just let the admin team know and they can direct you. In some cases, you may need to open a new file with your EAP provider, and in some cases we can just transfer the file.
Easy. Give us a call or complete the online form. We'll be in touch within a day or two and get you all set up.
Short answer...yes. If you have an open file with CVA, we need a copy of the entitlement letter so we can bill accordingly.
That depends. If you have an EAP program, then nothing. If you are coming for counselling on your own, our fees for master's level counsellors are $120 per hour for individuals and $125 per hour for couples, plus any applicable taxes. Registered psychologists charge between $190 - $225 per hour. Psychological assessments vary depending on the scope of the assessment.
